A customer canceled an order—but the merchandise has already been manufactured, imported, or delivered.

Now what?

Big Willy’s Wholesale buys qualifying new canceled-order inventory along with excess, surplus, overstock, discontinued, closeout, slow-moving, Amazon/e-commerce, and other bulk general merchandise from businesses nationwide.

If a canceled purchase order has left your company holding pallets, truckloads, containers, or thousands of units you didn't plan to keep, submit the opportunity directly to our buying team.

What Is Canceled-Order Inventory?

Canceled-order inventory is merchandise that was manufactured, imported, purchased, or allocated for a customer whose order was later canceled or reduced.

The merchandise itself may be perfectly new.

The problem is that the original buyer is no longer taking it.

That can leave a manufacturer, importer, distributor, wholesaler, or brand unexpectedly holding a substantial inventory position.

For example, a manufacturer may produce 20,000 units for a retailer before the retailer cancels the program.

An importer may have containers already in transit when a customer reduces its purchase order.

A distributor may bring in inventory specifically for a large customer that subsequently changes its requirements.

In each situation, the business suddenly owns inventory it never intended to warehouse or sell through its normal channels.

Big Willy’s Wholesale wants to review these opportunities.

Who Do We Buy Canceled-Order Inventory From?

We evaluate qualifying inventory from many types of sellers, including:

  • Manufacturers
  • Importers
  • Distributors
  • Wholesalers
  • Brands
  • Retailers
  • E-commerce companies
  • Amazon sellers
  • 3PL customers
  • Warehouse inventory owners
  • Other authorized inventory sellers

The important factors are the merchandise, condition, quantity, location, and economics of the opportunity.

Manufacturers With Canceled Purchase Orders

Manufacturers can be particularly exposed when a customer cancels after production has started or finished.

Raw materials have already been purchased.

Labor has already been committed.

Products may already be packaged.

Cases may already be palletized.

Instead of allowing those finished goods to remain in storage indefinitely, manufacturers can submit the available inventory to Big Willy’s Wholesale as a potential bulk purchase.

Whenever possible, provide the complete inventory quantity, case pack, product specifications, photos, location, and asking price.

Importers With Canceled Customer Orders

Canceled orders can become even more complicated when merchandise has already been imported.

Maybe production was completed overseas before the customer changed its order.

Perhaps containers are already on the water.

Maybe the merchandise has arrived at a port, warehouse, or 3PL and the original customer is no longer taking it.

If your company is now holding new imported merchandise in bulk, submit the opportunity.

We evaluate inventory nationwide.

Distributors With Customer-Specific Overstock

Distributors sometimes purchase unusually large quantities based on expected orders from specific customers.

When those customers cancel, reduce quantities, change assortment, or discontinue a program, the distributor can be left with inventory significantly above normal demand.

That merchandise doesn't necessarily need to sit in the warehouse waiting for normal sales to eventually absorb it.

Big Willy’s Wholesale can review the excess position as a bulk purchase opportunity.

Retail Programs That Were Canceled or Changed

Canceled inventory isn't limited to individual purchase orders.

Retail programs change too.

A retailer may cancel a rollout, reduce store count, change packaging requirements, discontinue a promotion, or remove an item before all planned inventory has shipped.

That can leave manufacturers, brands, and distributors with significant quantities of new merchandise.

If that happens, show us the inventory.

What Types of Canceled-Order Merchandise Do We Consider?

Big Willy’s Wholesale evaluates opportunities across numerous consumer general merchandise categories, including:

  • Household products
  • Beauty & personal care
  • Food & beverage
  • Baby products
  • Pet merchandise
  • Electronics
  • Kitchen & cookware
  • Office & school supplies
  • Outdoor merchandise
  • Toys
  • Apparel
  • Paper & janitorial
  • Other consumer general merchandise

If your exact category isn't listed, submit it anyway.

Our purchasing needs can vary.

What Quantities Can You Submit?

We're interested in commercial inventory quantities.

Depending on the merchandise, opportunities may include:

  • Multiple pallets
  • Hundreds of cases
  • Thousands of units
  • Large single-SKU positions
  • Multi-SKU inventories
  • Full truckloads
  • Multiple truckloads
  • Container quantities
  • Complete retail-program inventory
  • Entire product lines
  • Large warehouse positions

If a canceled order has left you with an unusually large quantity, that's exactly the type of situation we'd like to review.

What If the Inventory Is at a 3PL?

That's fine.

The merchandise does not need to be relocated before you contact us.

Inventory can be located at your factory, warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment center, 3PL, import facility, or another commercial storage location.

Provide the location with your submission so our buying team can evaluate logistics along with the inventory.

What If the Merchandise Has Custom Packaging?

Submit the opportunity and disclose it.

Canceled-order inventory can sometimes contain retailer-specific packaging, labels, inserts, price stickers, or other customer-specific elements.

Include photos and clearly explain anything customized for the original buyer.

Our team can then determine whether the merchandise is suitable for our resale channels.

New Merchandise Only

Big Willy’s Wholesale purchases new merchandise only.

We do not purchase customer returns, used merchandise, open-box goods, or reconditioned products.

Canceled-order merchandise should be new and commercially resalable.

What Information Should You Send?

If you need to move canceled-order inventory, sending complete information can help us evaluate it faster.

Whenever available, provide:

  • Product name
  • Brand
  • SKU
  • UPC
  • Available quantity
  • Case pack
  • Number of cases
  • Number of pallets
  • Inventory location
  • Product condition
  • Product photos
  • Packaging photos
  • Inventory spreadsheet
  • MSRP or normal selling price
  • Asking price, if available
  • Expiration or best-by dates when applicable
  • Original retail or sales channel, when relevant
  • Any resale or channel restrictions

If the canceled purchase order contains many SKUs, send the complete inventory spreadsheet.

Your Customer Canceled. The Inventory Still Has Value.

A canceled order doesn't automatically mean the merchandise needs to sit in your warehouse.

If the products are new and available in commercial quantities, Big Willy’s Wholesale may be able to evaluate the position as a bulk inventory opportunity.

We're actively looking for new canceled-order inventory, excess merchandise, surplus stock, overstock, discontinued products, closeouts, slow-moving inventory, Amazon/e-commerce inventory, and other bulk general merchandise nationwide.

If a customer canceled and left you holding inventory, show us what you have.
